.bz is the official cCTLD domain name of the country Belize.
It is managed by the University Management Ltd. The University Management Ltd (UMLTD) was founded on October 2000 and their mission is to promote, manage and market the prestigious top-level domain ".bz". UMLTD also promote the ccTLD for Belize as an acronym for the word "Business".
Belize domain names are available to anyone, anywhere, on a first-come first-served basis and a local presence in Belize an any proof of trade with the country is not needed. It is easy to register a chosen ".bz", since ".bz" is unrestricted. A ".bz" domain name can initially be registered for a period of 1-10 years and it can be renewed for a period of 1-9 years. The registration term of a domain name may not exceed 10 years at any given time.
The current registrant of a domain name has the right to renew the registration term of the domain name before the current registration term expires. Should the registrant choose not to renew the domain name, the name will be deleted and become available to other potential registrants. Registrations can take place directly under ".bz", but there are also several sub-domains available:

.com.bz
.net.bz
.org.bz
These sub-domains are also unrestricted, and available on a first-come first-served basis. The ".bz" registry have reserved some domain names as being "Premium" names, and the prices of these vary (many are being sold for $500 US Dollars for one year).
In order to register a domain name under ".bz" make sure that the name meets the follwing criteria: 1. Domain names cannot have more than 63 characters and not less than 3 (extensions not included);
2. domain names may include only letters (Roman alphabet a-z, numbers (0-9), or hyphen (-);
3. domain names cannot begin or end with a hyphen;
4. domain names considered offensive may be declined.
