.ug is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Uganda. Registrations for the .ug domain are done by delegation. A domain within a .ug sub domain category will be delegated to a company or person running name servers who support that name. Currently there isn’t a limit to the number of .ug domain registrations that an individual or company can hold. There are also no restrictions on who may apply for a .ug domain.
Organisations applying for name registration need to provide at least two independent and reliable DNS name servers in two physically separate locations on the Internet. Failure to do so can delay the registration process.
Although unlikely, the UG domain registry reserves the rights to verify all information for domain applications and agreements. Should any information be found to be false or misleading, the application will likely be either delayed or revoked. Applications can also be revoked should the information be found false or misleading even after the delegation of a domain name.
There is an option to modify the domain name after the name has been delegated by using online tools from the UG domain registry. Only a person whose name is used to register the domain may use the online tools to modify.
Administrators should follow the guidelines set in the UG domain registry agreement, which can be found online at https://www.registry.co.ug/terms.php. The administrator should be technically competent as any problems that arise outside of DNS information and registrant details will be billed for separately.
